GM Expands Military Discount

William Durant founded General Motors in 1908 and in less than seven years, the first World War broke out in Europe. Our troops became of a part of history in a fight to keep America the land of the free and certainly the home of the brave. At the time, there were fewer than 8,000 automobiles in America, many fueled by steam and electricity while only a few had gasoline engines. In 1910, Chevrolet and Cadillac became a part of GM and they soon set the pace of production, design and marketing innovation that automakers follow even today. During both World Wars, GM supplied allied forces with more goods than any other company, keeping great rapport with the military and providing as much support as possible. Many of the same plants that produced automobiles were converted during the World Wars to build tanks and other military vehicles for the war effort. In 1982, GM expanded today, is a leading automotive manufacturer in the U.S. and has become one of the most well known automotive brands worldwide.
